Dr. Fatina was born in Brooklyn and grew up in the New York City area. She graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors and a degree in Biological Sciences from Wagner College. Finishing her studies in only three and half years, she decided to spend her last semester prior to dental school volunteering and working in the dental field. Dr. Fatina earned her D.D.S. degree from SUNY Buffalo School of Dental Medicine. She completed her general practice residency at Staten Island University Hospital and pursued her pediatric dental training at Stony Brook University Hospital. There, she served as chief resident and completed her research in helping the special needs population to gain further access to dental care, while mentoring dental students during their pediatric rotations.

Dr. Fatina found her true passion, treating children and patients with special needs, during her years of study and training. Looking to further her experiences, she enrolled in a fellowship at Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine, caring for patients with disabilities and special needs. The year allowed her to successfully treat patients with many different medically complex backgrounds using IV sedation and general anesthesia. Dr. Fatina is proud to be a board certified pediatric dentist, which is the highest honor in her profession.
After having her son Julian, Dr. Fatina initially struggled with breastfeeding. She made it her mission to learn everything about how lip and tongue ties affect breastfeeding, speech and swallowing issues that parents experience with children. After Julian had the procedure and the recommended stretches were completed, many of the initial issues that came with nursing him resolved. Dr. Fatina wanted to help other moms who were having the same issues.
Dr. Fatina has completed multiple educational courses with renowned professionals, Dr. Baxter, Dr. Ghaheri, Dr. Zaghi and the American Laser Study Club. She is always looking to help moms who are struggling with nursing, feeding, and speech related issues. We have also created this educational video on Youtube to help parents who are struggling with lip/tongue ties.
We also have a tongue/lip tie assessment quiz which can be helpful in finding out if your little one has lip/tongue tie related issues
